Mass Intention Policy
The Mass Intention Calendar is kept by the Church Parish Office Coordinator.
Arrangements for a particular day can be made by calling or stopping by the Church Parish Office.
The Archdiocesan prescribed donation for a Mass Offering is $7.00. Those who cannot afford to make such an offering may still designate a day for the intention of their loved one.
Canon Law prohibits accepting stipends for Masses more than one year in advance.
If Person is Alive: Permission is required.
If Person is Deceased: No permission required.
Masses are assigned on a first come, first served basis.
If scheduling more than one Mass intention for the same person, we need to schedule them a month apart. (Name/Intention 1x per month) No more than 3 intentions per person per requester per year.
We can schedule Masses one year out from the current date.
As per Church Law, one of the Masses each weekend is designated as Pro populo (for the Parishioners of the Parish), as well as one of the Masses for a Holy Day.
The Church reserves the right to change a date if necessary. In that case, the person making the request will be notified of the change, if we are given their contact information.
If you wish to request more Masses than outlined above, we would be happy to send the extra Mass Intentions to the Missions for you.
The priest’s Mass intention for the weekday is normally mentioned during the general intercessions. However, visiting priests may choose not to mention the intention publicly during the Mass. In addition, while the priest is out, scheduled Mass intentions will be shared with the priest so he can continue to pray for that person(s).
