In gratitude for Father Peter on this Priesthood Sunday, we have set out a Free Will Donation box in Fellowship Hall. Thank you for your monetary gift to Father Peter.
Just like Jesus, we want to acknowledge the heart behind the donation rather than the size of it. - Luke 21:1-4
Prayer for Priests Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our priests. Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments. Help our priests to be strong in their vocation. Set their souls on fire with love for your people. Grant them the wisdom, understanding, and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire them with the vision of your kingdom. Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel. Allow them to experience joy in their ministry. Help them to become instruments of your divine grace. We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest. Amen.
What is Priesthood Sunday? Priesthood Sunday is a special day set aside to honor priesthood. It is a day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church as a central one.
Ways to Honor Our Priests
Pray for your priest and all priests throughout the world
Monetary gifts are always welcome! Priests have expenses, too!
Invite your priest for dinner with your family or friends
Send a card or letter to your priest or a retired priest
Pray a rosary. Offer the 1st decade to the priest who baptized you, the 2nd for the priest who gave you 1st communion, the 3rd for the bishop who confirmed you, the 4th for the priest who witnessed your marriage and the 5th for the priest who will anoint you at your death.
